Hiekkaharju water tower is a project by WSP Finland. As a proposal of this size develops, multiple structural, technical, and aesthetic changes are implemented throughout the entire planning process. Therefore, WSP required a system that could quickly adapt to changes in the structure. The designer created a parametric system that adapted to this constant changes, and generates intricate and dynamic perforation patterns that are laser cut onto the back-lit metal sheet panelling covering the upper part of the tower that shows the digital-physical hybridity nature of the project.
