The Tree of Life is an artwork designed for the What if? exhibition at the Design Museum. Seven creative professionals were invited to interpret alternative scenarios for the future. The tree of life as a sculpture has been present in various cultures around the world. It often references religion and can guide a person through difficult stages in life. The reinterpretation of the tree of life resulted in a combination of 3D printing and projection mapping. The sculpture is printed in bioplastic, and video footage is projected to the front surfaces. The sculpture shows the viewer its subconscious thoughts, making the viewer fully aware about its deepest thoughts in order to become more self-conscious.
